Blackwate Castle south facing side This unique 12th century castle has recently been restored and now offers you exclusive accommodation in our 9 award winning suites. Our 50 acre estate is situated in a stunning location overlooking the forested valley of the River Awbeg in the heart of the Blackwater Valley. All amenities of the Castle from strolling along the banks of the river within the grounds, relaxing in our walled kitchen garden, to fishing in our private river are open to our guests. You can also lose yourself in the Castle Maze! You are also welcome to relax in our Tea Room, Library, or Bar within the Castle itself. We also offer spacious self catering apartments in the recently renovated Castle Courtyard. Blackwater Castle is located in the picturesque award winning village of Castletownroche on the N72 (eight miles from Mallow Town). On our webpage you will learn more about this fantastic historical location in the heart of southern Ireland. At apartments we show you the different rooms and apartments. Description of area/town/village

Castletownroche in the heart of the Blackwater Valley is situated on the N72, halfway between Fermoy and Mallow, about 35km north of Cork. The Blackwater Castle offers Bed & Breakfast in the historical castle. 9 award winning double-bed rooms with ensuite bathroom lets you relax in a high quality. In our new breakfast room with river-view you will have a taste at our rich breakfast buffet. Every apartment in the Garden Apartments is 40 to 50 m² with spacious bedrooms, living room, and a fully equipped kitchen with dining area. At the garden apartments you can directly access the Castle Kitchen Garden, the "Walled Garden". All Garden apartments have ensuite bathrooms. Coming by car from Rosslare, follow the N25 towards Cork, after Waterford turn right onto the N72, stay on this through Lismore and Fermoy to CTR. From Cork take either N8 to Fermoy or N20 to Mallow, then take the N72 to CTR. Kerry (Farranfore) Airport is about 1,5 hrs drive away, first take the N22 to Killarney, then turn onto the N72 to CTR.
