Riga is the capital of Latvia. Located on the Baltic sea at the mouth of Daugava river, with 739,232 inhabitants (2003), is the biggest town in the baltic countries and one of the main cultural, political and financial centers of the region. Riga is a very bright town full of cafes, bars opened until late, restaurants, pubs and discos. During summer Dome Square becomes the place for meetings and for amusement, with tables and chairs. Nights are animated like London, Paris and Amsterdam. There are a lot of public locals where amusement is the key word. In 1997 the historical centre of Riga has been recognised by UNESCO like human heritage, due to its buildings in Art Nouveau (the german Jugendstil) and for the wooden style of XIX century. How stated in motivation, the historical centre of Riga, also preserving its medieval and following styles, has so many quality and quantity of Art Nouveau buildings, like no other place in the world.
