Rantala Farm
The holiday homes at Rantala farm in the village of Vehvilä are situated directly at the Jylänki lake. The vacation rentals are about 400 and 600 meters away from the farm actually.
Kuhmanne bungalow: blockhouse of 155 sqm, 4 double or twin bedrooms, options for up to 6 extra beds, about 80 meters to the private sandy beach and the landing stage.
Tulikallio cottage: blockhouse of 61 sqm, 2 double bedrooms, 2 additional sleeping options, anout 25 meters to beach.
Farmhouse at the Rantala farm: about 122 sqm, 2 double bedrooms, 6 additional sleeping options, about 70 meters to the beach.
The lovely arranged vacation rentals offer electric heating and light, kitchen with fridge, electric stove and microwave, soapstone ovens, tv, radio with cd player, bathroom with WC and shower with warm and cold water. Out drinking water is provided by a well. Each vacation home has its own sauna and landing stage with rowing boat.
You can rent fishing equipment. And of course pets are welcome!
Leisure activities: In Rantala farm you can enjoy the Finnish countryside and its yield. You can fish, pick berries and mushrooms and exercise in the nature both walking and boating on the lake or within the nearby nature preserve at the Kutunjoki river. This is an excellent place to watch bibers and ospreys. The river meanders through a swamp-like forest, both the small and the big Kolunpohja lake down to the Ryönä bay with all its water birds. There is also a secluded part for hunting of smaller game.

Description of area/town/village
|
The village of Vehvilä is a peaceful and beautiful village near the town of Suonenjoki, which is famous in Finland for growing strawberries. The closest public services (shops, health centre, post office, pharmacy etc.) are at a distance of 17 kilometres in Suonenjoki.
The city of Kuopio with its university, attractions, a wide range of cultural activities and also the home of the yearly international ski jumping competition is about 50 km away to the Northwest; the road there leads through typical pine and fir forests. Kuopio also offers the opportunity of boat tours on the Kallavesi.
Rantala has something for everyone - you can play badminton, ride your bicycle, go swimming, windsurfing or hiking. The way around the lake is about 9 km long, you will walk through a nice scenery of lakes, forests and fields.
The winters here in Middle Finland have a lot of snow. Enjoy a romantic evening at the warm fireplace after a nice walk on a cold and quiet winter day. Of course there are plenty options for skiing and iceskating or visit the Spa Vesileppis in Leppävirta or Rauhalahti in Kuopio. There are also possibilities for downhill skiing in the ski slopes of Kuopio and Rautalampi, and a few bigger ski slopes a little further away in Tahkovuori and Kasurila.
